State the nominal size, applicable limits, datum faces and inspection positions. Include the condition in which the blank will be measured, particularly whether it is supported or restrained.

Do not use “stable” as shorthand for every quality characteristic. Size variation, face form, squareness and changes after handling are different observations. Record them separately so an improvement in one does not hide a problem in another.

Maintain the material identity with the inspection report. SGL Carbon distinguishes several isostatic grades. Grade identification supports comparison; it does not by itself prove that a supplied blank contains no internal variation or defects.

Agree whether the blank will be accepted directly or only after a datum-preparation operation. That decision changes the stock required and the meaning of the as-cut inspection.

Map Dimensions to Physical Positions

Đánh dấu hướng mẫu và đánh số các trạm kiểm tra. The result is a documented limitation of that blank: its different features cannot be represented by one generic tolerance claim.

The record used shop-floor hand instruments. Squareness gaps of 0.09–0.15 mm and face-indicator readings of 0.01–0.03 mm were separate checks, not matching width stations. Their meanings and sampling coverage must remain separate.

The trial interpretation links the taper to the uncompensated condition, but no matched compensated repeat is reported. This supports a follow-up question, not a guaranteed correction figure.

Convert Inspection into a Finishing Decision

Compare each feature with the final geometry and intended machining route. Determine which face needs correction, how the part will be located and whether the required stock remains throughout the feature.

Do not simply add every reported deviation into one allowance. Their directions, reference relationships and measurement definitions matter. A process engineer must decide how the geometry can be recovered while retaining the final dimensions.

Các Hướng dẫn cắt graphite độ chính xác cao addresses tolerance planning. Use it alongside the actual blank report rather than adopting a headline accuracy figure as an acceptance limit.

If a blank is accepted conditionally, state the condition. For example, require datum preparation before it is used in the next setup. That instruction should travel with the workpiece and remain visible to the receiving team.

Use a Controlled Follow-Up Trial

Choose the hypothesis to investigate: seating, compensation, wire condition or another recorded factor. Preserve the drawing and measurement method so the new result can be compared meaningfully with the original.

Repeat the feature map, not just the best-looking measurement. If width taper drove the concern, inspect along the same direction and retain the individual readings. Also confirm that the change did not produce an unacceptable result on a different face.

Where the order involves multiple blanks, add repeated locating and cutting evidence. A single specimen can demonstrate a local geometry problem but cannot establish a batch distribution. The batch-cutting stability page handles that wider qualification question.

Keep graphite block dimensional stability focused on the blank’s defined geometry. Introduce production statistics only when the available sample and measurement design can support them.

Known Limitations / Trade-offs

More inspection points improve coverage but do not automatically provide a full geometric certification. Select the sampling strategy from the drawing, feature risk and equipment available, and document any region that has not been assessed.

Better stock preparation may reduce correction later while adding setup or measurement time. A tighter blank acceptance condition can also increase rejections without improving final-component economics. Compare the complete manufacturing route.

No universal tolerance, support spacing or release procedure is established here. Those depend on the actual grade, geometry and equipment. A dimensional trend alone does not prove residual stress, wire wear or fixture error as its sole cause.

Keep Accepted Geometry Connected to the Process Revision

Store the accepted feature map with the actual setup and inspection procedure. If the workpiece is later measured again, identify whether the same reference, support and instrument arrangement was used before comparing values.

For a repeat order, preserve the criteria as well as the earlier readings. The old sample shows what happened; the drawing and acceptance procedure define what the new blank must meet. Copying the previous sample’s minimum and maximum values into a new specification would change their meaning.

Include a simple deviation record when a blank is accepted with a required correction. State which face must be prepared, what material remains and who owns the next acceptance decision. Do not let that conditional state become an undocumented precedent.

These records help keep graphite block dimensional stability tied to physical features and manufacturing decisions. They also make a later investigation narrower: the team can compare actual changes instead of reconstructing a setup from memory.

Questions for Inspection and Purchasing

Can I accept a bar from its average width?

Only if the agreed specification genuinely uses that quantity. For most finishing decisions, the local dimensions and geometry also matter. Retain the position map and compare the critical regions with the material required by the final part.

Does a flat-looking cut establish a datum?

No. Inspect the reference face using a suitable method and support condition. Its visual finish does not establish the relationship it will create when locating another operation.

What should accompany a sample report?

Material identity, drawing revision, orientation, measurement method, raw readings, support condition and relevant cutting settings. This turns graphite block dimensional stability from a vague sales description into a feature-specific acceptance discussion.

Share your blank drawing and inspection requirement through our technical contact page.
